BISMARCK — The North Dakota Game and Fish Department has set regulations for small game, waterfowl and furbearers and has released the dates for pronghorn and early Canada goose hunting. Early Canada goose hunting opens Aug. 15 in all three zones. It will close on Sept. 7 in the Missouri River zone, Sept. 15 in the western zone and Sept. 20 in the eastern zone.
ST. PAUL — Minnesota’s local governments spent $8.7 million on lobbying activities in 2018, according to a report from the Minnesota state auditor's office. The 2018 Local Government Lobbying Services report said this is a decrease of about $50,000, or 0.6%, from 2017. “It’s efficient to be represented by someone who is there (at the Capitol) every day,” said Joel Carlson, who owns a legal research and government affairs business.
BISMARCK — An audit of the North Dakota Information Technology Department shows the agency cannot account for 217 of its 6,500 assets, including 24 assets that may have contained sensitive information such as Social Security numbers. The department complied with law and appropriation requirements with the exception of its inadequate inventory procedures, according to the state auditor’s report.
