Minneapolis-St. Paul airport gets top billing in North America
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Tuesday, March 6, was named the best airport of its size in North America by the Airports Council International.
This is the second consecutive year that MSP has topped the council's rankings, which are based on passenger surveys, according to a news release issued by the Metropolitan Airports Commission.
Brian Ryks, the commission's CEO, said it was airport and airline employees who deserved credit for the award.
"Our vision is 'providing your best airport experience,' and receipt of this coveted award validates our efforts and those of our partners in the MSP Airport community," Ryks said in the news release.
To compile its rankings, Airports Council International surveyed 600,000 airline passengers in 84 countries, asking about check-in, security screening, restrooms, restaurants and other performance indicators. MSP ranked first in North America among airports that serve 25 to 40 million passengers a year.
