Olivieri’s Salon and Spa closes in Grand Forks
A downtown Grand Forks salon has shuttered its doors.
Olivieri’s Salon and Spa announced in late July via Facebook it was closing so owner Robbi Kovar could retire. The salon’s last day was July 22.
“Our owner has decided to retire, and believe us, she certainly deserves it!” the Facebook post stated. “Although we're sad to see our journey together coming to an end, our talented stylists are ready and excited for their new adventures.”
The business opened in 2007 at 311 S. Fourth St. in the Rivers Edge building. Most of the employees are moving to other salons in Grand Forks, but Karly Anderson, who has been with Olivieri’s since 2012, will “continue her adventures of working and traveling for a Broadway musical production company.”
Previously, Anderson was a wigmaster for the touring musical “Anything Goes,” and also has traveled with “Bullets Over Broadway” and “Dirty Dancing.” She told the Herald she has been named the head of the hair and makeup department for the traveling musical “Sound of Music.”
Olivieri’s is a separate business from the salons in Fargo and Detroit Lakes. For more information on the stylists’ moves, visit the Olivieri’s Salon & Spa (Grand Forks) Facebook page.
