Soybean group seeks farmers to fill national board position
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Soybean farmers can apply to fill one of four seats with the United Soybean Board.
The term would be three years, according to a news release by the South Dakota Soybean Research & Promotion Council.
Interested candidates must be:
- a South Dakota resident,
- at least 21 years of age, and
- involved in a farming operation that raises soybeans.
The United Soybean Board is composed of 78 farmer-leaders who oversee the investments of the soybean checkoff on behalf of all U.S. soybean farmers, according to the release. Checkoff funds are invested in the areas of animal utilization, human utilization, industrial utilization, industry relations, market access and supply.
To apply for a board position, farmers need to submit a USDA Background Information Form to the Council office before March 20. The form may be obtaiend by contacting Becky Cypher at 605-330-9942. For more information, visit unitedsoybean.org.
