Producer prices for final demand increased over the past year

Producer prices for final demand rose 1.3% for the 12 months ended in February 2020. 

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistic said on Tuesday that prices for final demand foods increased 1.1%, while prices for final demand energy rose 0.2% over the year. Prices for final demand goods less foods and energy rose by 0.5%.

Additional numbers show that producer prices for final demand trade services prices rose 1.3% over the year, the bureau said in a news release. Prices for final demand transportation and warehousing services increased 0.9%, and prices for final demand construction rose 3.8% over the year.

Data comes from the Producer Price Indexes program and are not seasonally adjusted, according to the bureau.
