Altru announces new manager
Melissa Ziegler has been hired as the new manager of outpatient psychiatry of Altru Health System. Ziegler has been with Altru for 18 years as a registered nurse and a patient care coordinator of the women's and children's unit. Ziegler holds a bachelor's degree in social work from UND and an associate's degree in nursing from Northland Community Technical College.
American Crystal Sugar promotes two
Randy Stark has been promoted to the role of shift supervisor in the American Crystal Sugar Co.'s Drayton, N.D., factory. Tim Fugleston was also promoted as the new production superintendent at its Crookston factory. Stark has been with American Crystal Sugar for five years and Fugleston since 2002.
Northlands Rescue Mission names new director
The Northlands Rescue Mission has named Sue Shirek its next executive director. She will take over next month, according to a press release from outgoing director Nancy Andrews.
Andrews, who served as interim director for the mission since last June, previously told the Herald she would be helping a new director take over the job this month.
Shirek was a Grand Forks police officer for 26 years, including time as a neighborhood resource officer and school resource officer, before retiring in 2013. She recently served as executive director of Care and Share, a homeless shelter in Crookston.
Shirek currently sits on the board of directors of Third Street Clinic and Prairie Harvest Mental Health.
Aldevron adds five
FARGO — Aldevron, a contract manufacturing firm for the biopharmaceutical industry, has hired Brent Lundstrom, Lance Monilaws, Kathy Edwards, Emily Tucker and Vanessa Johansen at its Fargo facility.
Lundstrom is the company’s new facilities manager. He graduated from North Dakota State University in Fargo in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in facility management. He also received a construction management graduate certificate from NDSU in 2015. Lundstrom is a certified facility manager and comes to Aldevron from CBRE in Fargo.
Monilaws is Aldevron’s strategic initiatives manager. A 2002 graduate of Mayville State University in Mayville, N.D., he has a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He previously was employed as a project manager at Essentia Health in Fargo.
Edwards joins the project management team as a project coordinator. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Valley City State University in Valley City, N.D., in 2006, and a Master of Science in pharmaceutical sciences from NDSU in 2010. She previously worked at Swanson’s Health Products in Fargo.
Tucker is a quality control analyst who graduated from NDSU in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in equine science with a minor in biology. She was previously employed at Gate City Bank in Moorhead, Minn.
Johansen joins Aldevron as a biomanufacturing operator. She has a bachelor’s degree from NDSU in biology, and previously worked at the NDSU Plant Pathology lab.
