Marvin Companies hire vice president of information technology
WARROAD, Minn. – Warroad native Rob Orvis has been hired as vice president of information technology for the Marvin Companies.
In his new role, Orvis will lead the development and delivery of a growth business plan, overall technology strategy and road map for the company.
As a member of the leadership team at the Marvin Companies, Orvis will oversee the implementation of IT systems and web applications to support the company’s business operations.
Orvis returns to his hometown of Warroad, Minnesota, after building a technology career in Minneapolis. Prior to joining The Marvin Companies, he was chief information officer for MVP Logistics & Service in Plymouth, Minn., where he led strategic innovation for the company’s internal and external client partners.
Orvis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business marketing from Bethel University.
ND University System names vice chancellor for administrative affairs
BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota University System has named Tammy Dolan as vice chancellor for administrative affairs. Dolan continues to perform the duties of the chief financial officer position for the system office as well.
Dolan has taken on responsibilities as the system's vice chancellor for administrative affairs as of Jan. 1. She has been the chief financial officer since November 2015.
The new position fills the need for leadership-level oversight of financial administration, development of the tuition model and other financial functions at the system level.
Before working at the NDUS, Dolan served as a management and fiscal analyst at the Office of Management and Budget. She has more than 25 years of experience in state government, including helping to create the higher education funding formula.
Town & Country Credit Union promotes two to vice president
MINOT, N.D. – Jake Klobuchar and Matt Benson were promoted to vice president at Town & Country Credit Union in January.
Klobuchar was promoted to vice president, commercial lending. He joined the Town & Country Credit Union team in Fargo in April 2017 as a commercial lender.
Klobuchar is based in the 52nd Avenue branch in Fargo and specializes in commercial lending, commercial real estate and small business.
Benson was promoted to vice president, agricultural lending. He joined the Town & Country Credit Union team in Minot in 2009 and previously served as an agricultural lender.
Benson, who has over nine years of agricultural lending experience, is based in the main branch in Minot.
SBA’s Bismarck office selects senior area manager
FARGO, N.D. – Hettianne Cekalla has been selected as the senior area manager for the Bismarck office of the U.S. Small Business Administration.
As senior area manager, Cekalla will be responsible for delivering SBA services in 25 counties in western North Dakota.
Located in the SBA Office in the state-owned Bank of North Dakota, she will work with a network of SBA counseling and training providers including SCORE, Small Business Development Centers and the Women’s Business Center. Along with staff from the North Dakota District Office, she will provide outreach and training on SBA finance programs and services to lenders located in Bismarck, Minot, Williston, Dickinson and surrounding rural communities, serving an area of more than 36,000 square miles.
Before joining the SBA’s North Dakota District Office, Cekalla served with U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development in Rapid City, S.D., and with the SBA in El Paso, Texas. A native of South Dakota and a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Cekalla has worked as a real estate broker, mortgage loan officer and real property assessor in Illinois and Minnesota.
