Small Sioux Falls business earns national recognition
SIOUX FALLS — The Fruit Club in Sioux Falls has been named as one of only 102 American Small Business Championship award winners across the country for 2017. The title is awarded by SCORE, a nationwide network of volunteer business mentors and counselors, and honors success and dedication to small businesses, and supported by Sam’s Club. Winners receive a $1,000 Sam’s Club gift card, training and networking, and are eligible to be named Grand Champion and receive $25,000 in prizes.
The Fruit Club provides fresh fruits to its subscribers, featuring a different fruit each month. The organization submitted an online application for the award in which it was asked to describe its most unique attributes, its impact on its community and its plans to use the $1,000 gift card to grow its business.
The Fruit Club serves customers in nearly 300 communities in 14 states with fresh fruit delivered directly from carefully selected orchards, according to the company. The business's website says it gives back to the community through frequent fruit donations, as well as through the annual South Dakota Peach Festival, benefitting a designated nonprofit.
“We’re thrilled and honored by this recognition from SCORE and Sam’s Club,” says The Fruit Club founder Irina Kleinsasser. “Thank you to our loyal customers for helping spread the word about our delicious fruit and for supporting us online in the American Small Business Championship.”
